Think Forward Power is a small growing consulting firm supporting clients in Mexico, Latin America, the United States, and Worldwide. We have experience with Utility connection projects, combined cycle power plants, renewable energy sites, co-generation (combined heat and power) facilities, gas compression & metering stations, and process industry.

The value of an Owner's Engineer - Main Transformer Witness Test
As we supervised on-site testing for a 10 MVA transformer at a client's facility, we identified the testing crew was unprepared due to lack of necessary equipment and their procedure deviated from the transformer’s OEM requirements. Failure to complete these OEM-mandated tests would have resulted in incomplete commissioning and could have voided the manufacturer’s warranty, exposing the owner to significant operational and financial risk. Through diligent review of the OEM manual and verification of all commissioning requirements, the Owner’s Engineer identified this deficiency early. This proactive oversight ensured that testing was aligned with OEM standards, protected the owner’s warranty, and maintained project integrity. This demonstrates how an Owner’s Engineer plays a vital role in diligence, risk mitigation, and successful project delivery.
